Mr Christopher David Jones is a Consultant Head and Neck Plastic Surgeon at Whiston Hospital in Liverpool, with additional commitments at Bangor Hospital in North Wales. Alongside his NHS work, he is a facial aesthetic surgeon at Manchester Plastic Surgery in Altrincham, where he leads the facial cosmetic surgery service. He also practises at the Pennant Private Medical Clinic in Caernarfon, where he is the lead cosmetic surgeon.

Chris graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry in 2011, earning distinctions in Medical Science, Clinical Science, and Clinical Practice, and was awarded the Harvey Minassian Prize for outstanding academic achievement.
Following graduation, Chris completed his junior doctor training in Merseyside before undertaking Core Surgical Training in Glasgow, including time at the renowned Canniesburn Plastic Surgery Unit, where his passion for plastic and reconstructive surgery was cemented.
He then completed a highly competitive six-year National Plastic Surgery Training Programme across leading centres in Scotland and Liverpool, culminating in the award of the FRCS (Plast), making him a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2022.
Chris further honed his surgical expertise during the prestigious Newcastle Microsurgical Fellowship, training in advanced microsurgery, facial reanimation, head and neck surgery, sarcoma surgery, and aesthetic procedures.
Chris is a dedicated trainer of junior plastic surgeons and aspiring doctors, which he finds both professionally fulfilling and personally rewarding. He has played an active role in medical education, organising the pan-Scotland Plastic Surgery registrar teaching programme and mentoring students at Aberdeen and Liverpool Universities. He was honoured with an invitation to become an honorary teaching fellow and was named Regional Plastic Surgery Trainer of the Year for the Mersey Deanery in 2024.
He has co-authored a textbook on entering plastic surgery training and developed an online e-learning module for the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS). Chris also supports colleagues preparing for the FRCS (Plast) examination and has served as an examiner for the Whiston FRCS (Plast) course. He holds formal qualifications in medical education through the Royal College of Surgeons’ Train the Trainer programme.
Research has been a central part of Chris’s career. He has published over 20 peer-reviewed articles, authored two textbooks, contributed multiple book chapters, and presented at renowned national and international plastic surgery conferences.
